WHY GIVE TO THE Y
Last year, the Matt Griffin YMCA provided over $110,000 in free and subsidized services in the Highline Community. Your gift to the Y has a meaningful, lasting impact right here in our neighborhood. We steward your contribution so that 95 cents of every dollar raised goes directly into our programs and services.
ADDRESSING CRITICAL LOCAL NEEDS
Families in the Highline Community continue to struggle due to the weak economy and other factors:
-70% of students in the Highline School District qualify for free or reduced lunch.
-The graduation rate for the Highline School District is 65%, while the state average is 72%.
These challenges have created a fragmented and struggling community, requiring additional human services, especially for youth.
GIVE TO THE Y, POSITIVELY IMPACT YOUR COMMUNITY
This year’s annual campaign we will raise over $150,000 in the Highline community to provide program support and much needed dollars for financial assistance. Financial scholarships provide a life-line to families and youth who could not otherwise participate in:
-Summer Educational Programming & Kindergarten Readiness
-Chronic Disease Prevention Programs
-Quality Before & After School Care
-Summer Day Camp
-Teen Leadership Programs
Please join me in supporting the Matt Griffin YMCA with a meaningful personal gift to the 2014 Annual Campaign.
When you give to the Matt Griffin YMCA your generosity reaches and supports children, families and seniors throughout the Highline community.
